The founder and former CEO of Athletic Apex, Randall Hunt operated the health club, which helps members achieve their fitness goals through Bionetics, a tailored system that basis a person’s exercise program on an assessment that looks at biology. Randall Hunt can be found on YouTube discussing fitness insights on any fitness topic, such as the importance of weightlifting on bone density.

While attending group classes is one way to become fit, weightlifting is more important because it facilitates bone growth, which in turn facilitates hair, skin, and nail growth. The process begins when a person engages in physical activity that creates the growth of osteoblast, a protein that is the catalyst for growth. Then osteocytes, which are the most common bone cells, detect the change and send signals to the osteoblasts and osteoclasts that result in the bone being repaired and strengthened. Osteocytes also trigger biochemical reactions that create new bone growth.

In the youtube video, a health club member illustrated the importance of strength training on the bones. The 72-year-old member had issues with osteopenia, which results in hollowed bones. However, with the addition of weightlifting to her routine, she experienced greater bone density because of physical activity’s impact on bone growth.
