.The founder and CEO of Athletic Apex, Randall Hunt is a self-made entrepreneur in the fitness industry. Before opening his gym, Randall Hunt’s path to success was a long, arduous journey comprised of many obstacles. Not only had he launched a multi-billion dollar business, but he also serves on the board of several prominent organizations.

This climb to prominence is one that is endemic of the American spirit. While it incorporates much of what is embedded in the “pulling oneself up by their bootstraps” philosophy, success happens when motivation, hard work, and serendipity converge.

Passion fuels the motivation to work. More importantly, this motivation sees many businessmen through very difficult times. When failure happens, this motivation is the reason many get up every morning, regroup, and set forth on a different path undeterred by the prospect of failing. Plus, these failures are the experiences upon which much success occurs.

More than just performing the basic standard of a particular job, motivation moves stellar employees into the stratosphere, simply because caring about a job makes it easy to do it well. This and hard work are reflected in the willingness of a person to put in long hours to launch a business or to stay at the office well beyond business hours to make sure a presentation goes off without a hitch.

However, many industrious people in the country work hard at a variety of jobs that do not reach the level of success seen in people who head Fortune 500 companies. The difference between a successful person and not so successful person might be one factor: serendipity. This can be a happenstance meeting with someone who is either a mentor or facilitates a crucial event that leads to success. Alternatively, this fortune can be a client or customer reference that becomes a platform for success. Either way, the combination of the three are formidable opponents to failure.
